Contraction Tracker & Timer Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-10

This policy explains what information the Contraction Tracker Timer app ("the app") for iPhone collects, why, and what choices you have. The app is published by Endurance Apptitude ("we", "us").

The app is a timing tool. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, diagnose or monitor any condition. Always follow your healthcare provider's advice.

The short version

  • Your contractions stay on your device. Contraction times, durations, intensity ratings, sessions, notes, "water broke" entries and your provider's name and phone number are stored only on your iPhone. We never receive them.
  • We collect anonymous usage statistics (Google Firebase Analytics) to understand which features are used and improve the app.
  • We process subscription purchases through RevenueCat, using an anonymous identifier, to know whether you have Premium.
  • We have no accounts, no ads, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell your data.

1. Information that stays on your device

DataWhere it livesDo we receive it?

Sessions (name and creation date), notes you write, "water broke" timeYour iPhoneNo
Your provider's name and phone number ("Call my provider")Your iPhoneNo
Pattern alert settings (on/off and the rule you chose, such as 5-1-1, 4-1-1 or 3-1-1) and Live Activity on/offYour iPhoneNo
App state (onboarding completed, review-prompt counters, Premium status cache)Your iPhoneNo
Pattern alert notificationsCreated as local notifications by iOS on your iPhone, only if you turn the alert on and allow notificationsNo
Live Activity (Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timer)Updated by the app on your iPhone through iOSNo
  • Data is kept in the app's local storage on your iPhone. The app does not use iCloud sync and has no server of its own.
  • Pattern alerts are local notifications created on your device. They are not sent through any server and we do not use push notifications. The Live Activity is also updated locally, not through push.
  • Call my provider opens your iPhone's phone app with the number you saved. The call is made by iOS; the app does not see or record it.
  • CSV export and labor report (Premium) create a file on your device (CSV, PDF or image) and open the iOS share sheet. The file goes only where you choose to send it; we do not receive a copy.
  • Clear All Data in Settings deletes all sessions, contractions and notes. If you delete the app, this data is deleted from your device (unless it is included in your own iCloud/device backup, which Apple manages).

2. Information collected automatically

Usage analytics — Google Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to count how the app is used. It collects:

  • App events we define, such as: onboarding started/completed (and which step), review prompt shown or requested, paywall shown (and which feature opened it), a Premium feature tapped while locked, notification permission asked (granted or not), provider contact saved and "call my provider" tapped or failed, "water broke" logged, note added, Live Activity started/turned on or off/start-stop used from the Lock Screen, labor report opened or shared (PDF or image), pattern alert turned on/off or triggered, Insights viewed, and session created/renamed/switched. Some events include simple values such as the screen or feature name, the pattern rule (for example "5-1-1"), whether you are a Premium user, the PDF/image format, how many contractions or sessions you have, the length of a note, or whether a provider name was entered (yes/no). They never include your contraction times, the text of your notes, or your provider's name or phone number.
  • Events Firebase records on its own, such as first open, sessions, app updates and in-app purchase events.
  • An app instance identifier — a random ID that Firebase creates for this installation. It is not your name, email or Apple ID, and it resets if you reinstall the app.
  • Device and app information: device model, iOS version, app version, language, and approximate location at country/region level derived from your IP address.

The app does not request permission to track you (App Tracking Transparency), so iOS does not make the advertising identifier (IDFA) available to the app or to Firebase. The app shows no ads and does not link analytics data to your identity.

Subscriptions — RevenueCat

Premium subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check and manage your Premium status. RevenueCat receives:

  • An anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat for this installation (we do not use accounts, so it is not linked to your name or email).
  • Purchase information from the App Store: which product you bought, price and currency, transaction dates, trial and renewal/cancellation status, and the App Store receipt/transaction data needed to verify the purchase.
  • Basic device and app information: app version, iOS version, country/store and language, used to show the right prices and offers.

We never receive your payment card details; payments are processed by Apple.

What we do not collect

  • No crash-reporting SDK (such as Crashlytics) is included in the app. If you opt in to share data with developers in iOS settings, Apple may share crash reports with us under Apple's own privacy policy.
  • The app does not use Apple Health (HealthKit) and does not read or write any health records. Your contraction data never leaves your device unless you export or share it yourself.
  • No contacts (you type your provider's number yourself; the app does not read your address book), photos, location (GPS), microphone or camera.
  • No email address, phone number of your own or account information.

3. How we use the information

  • To provide Premium features and restore your purchases.
  • To understand which features are used, find problems and improve the app, including the onboarding and the subscription screen.
  • We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

5. Data retention

  • On-device data stays until you delete it in the app (Clear All Data) or delete the app.
  • Firebase Analytics event data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics property (up to 14 months) and then deleted automatically; aggregated reports without identifiers may be kept longer.
  • RevenueCat purchase records are kept while we use the service, because they are needed to verify and restore subscriptions and for financial and tax records. You can ask us to delete them (see below).

6. Your choices and rights

  • You can use the app without creating an account and without giving us any personal details. Timing contractions is always free.
  • You can delete all your data with Settings → Clear All Data, or delete the app to remove all on-device data.
  • You can turn pattern alerts and the Live Activity off in the app, and manage notifications in Settings → Notifications on your iPhone.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
  • Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we do not know who you are, please email us and, if possible, include the Premium transaction ID from your App Store receipt so we can find the related records.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
